Manufactured to Exact Length.
Installed with State-of-the-Art Equipment.
Quick and Easy
Ideal for applications in sensitive areas, screw piles can be quickly installed with little impact on immediate surroundings. Upgrades to live facilities can be made safely and in a timely manner. As with driven piles, screw piles can be cut, capped, and used without delay, and without a nearby source of concrete. If the time comes, screw piles can be easily removed for re-use or recycling, assisting customers with addressing environmental concerns.

DFI Units Perform
By building internally developed RGZ cranes , DFI units can achieve results competitors can’t come close to. With an unprecedented 75 foot reach, RGZ cranes can install more piles before relocating, ensuring safety, cutting down on installation time, and saving clients money. DFI use’s drive-heads that produce 160,000 foot pounds of torque—combined with the boom length of an RGZ crane, allows for installations of continuous lengths over 22 meters, and diameters of up to 20 inches.
Any Job

DFI operates the largest fleet of screw pile units in Western Canada. These units can install both screw piles and driven piles—the cranes are easily converted. A DFI unit can arrive on site hauling all the required equipment, a selection of screw and driven piles, and install both, with a quick 30 minute change over process and a crew of just two. If multiple units are required DFI will coordinate the personnel and equipment. DFI can supply tracked units, tandem steer/tandem drive, tandem steer/tri-drive, and tri-drive articulating boom trucks, and all the truck units can haul enough piles to site to get any job started.

Exact Length, No Waste
Edmonton is home to the DFI pipe mill and CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) certified screw pile fabrication shop. The pipe mill produces ASTM A252 grade pipe in sizes ranging from 4½ inches to 16 inches, and up to .500 inch wall thickness. Screw piles are made following certified CWB W47.1 welding procedures, and meet CSA W59 standards. All piling material made by DFI can be manufactured to exact length—no mid welds. An on-site CNC plasma table is used to cut the screw pile helix, and a customized hydraulic press forms them to precise engineered specifications.
Technology At Work
Computerized torque data logging provides DFI clients with easy to understand pile reports and a high quality summary. In addition, DFI can provide project management for any sized screw pile foundation. From beginning to end, the service includes design, engineering, supply, and manufacture of custom length screw piles, surveying, installation, and cutting & capping. DFI can even install screw piles with pre-fabricated pile caps, perfectly to grade, eliminating the need for on-site welding. Whether a lightweight modular storage building, a large compressor station, or a dynamically loaded transmission tower, DFI can provide clients with an engineered, safe, and cost effective foundation.
