Subsistence

DFI provides or pays for transportation and lodging expenses (room and tax only) for crews and supervisors working in the field. When a DFI employee is required to travel from their home location resulting in an overnight stay in a hotel or sleeper, they are eligible for subsistence (meal allowance).*

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Allowance

DFI supplies employees with basic PPE such as coveralls, ear plugs, and safety glasses. The costs of many other personalized articles are shared between DFI and the employee. Work boots, welding helmets, prescription safety glasses, and custom ear plugs are examples of items that DFI will reimburse employees half of the cost.*

RRSP Matching

DFI encourages employees to save for the future by matching Registered Retirement savings Plan contributions.*

Employee Referral Program

DFI workers can benefit by recommending qualified candidates for hire. Employees that refer a friend or family member for an open position may qualify for a bonus.*

DFI offers employees and their families a comprehensive benefits package administered by Great West Life Assurance Company. This package includes employee life insurance, dependent life insurance, employee accidental death, long term disability, healthcare coverage, dental coverage, and dismemberment and specific loss.
